at H.E. Hun Maneth Youth Camp

At 1:45pm the delegates were leaving the division # 42 to go to H.E. Hun Maneth Youth Camp in order to stay there for one night before starting the journey to Division # 09 where is located near Preah Vihear Temple.

The Cambodia Youth Camp was built for all Cambodian youths who would like to visit Preah Vihear to visit our troops who are defending along Cambodia-Thai borders. On the other hand, they also offer the charity to the troops. They could stay in there before leaving to Preah Vihear Temple because there wasn't any guest houses there.

For BELTEI campus directors were tired because we slept nothing at night at Siem Riep province except my H.E. Director-General. We were entertaining at one of Karaoke until 2:15pm, and we started the journey at 3:20pm; hence, we didn't sleep and we were exhausted, for we were afraid of the convoy left us.

Along the way to the youth camp, we were asleep on the car even though the roads were roughly. We sometimes woke up because of the car shaking from the left to the right side, and we continued our sleep.

We took around five hours to be there. When we arrived there, the gloomy day came. We saw a lot of cars to park at the camp. We got out of the cars and were looking for the parking space. Then we were walking to the camp where is far from the parking cars about 1300 meters.

The camp has been under the construction, and the rainy day was coming so that the arrow path was full of mud. All the delegates have to be careful to walk on it to the camp. Unluckily, one of delegates was fell on the ground because of the slippery road, but he wasn't wounded.

We spent 37 minutes to reach the camp. We felt surprise to see the constructions that were good looking. Around the camp, we could see big trees around it with the beautiful scenery as a green zone. I found that it will be a famous camp in Cambodia and also the place for people who love to visit there. It is not only Cambodia youth but also Cambodian people who would like to visit Preah Vihear to stay there because they can get fresh air and see the natural scenery.

The delegates entered the dinner hall that H.E. Hun Maneth called, "The Hundred Stars Hall" because that hall hadn't had the roof yet so that they could see the beautiful stars on the sky at night. On the table there were four dishes and sweet. Food was good for us because it was a kind of food as like as Phnom Penh capital. Because of taking long trip and exhausted, we couldn't eat a lot.

During the dinner time, there were two excellencies given speeches about the camp background especially the history of Preah Vihear Temple. The last speech with the meaningful was H.E. Hun Maneth. He called for all Cambodian people reunite in order to fight again the invasion comes from abroad and develop our country.

He noted that some of youth or students were attended the politic to against the government and pushed it to enter the civil war during the old generation. "We are Cambodian youth. We shall not follow the old generation to return and we shall not do something without critical thinking and push our country to enter the war again." he said. He also mentioned about our neighbor have invaded our country; hence, we have to reunite and against them. We shall not allow them to look down us anymore.

I took only some main points of H.E. Hun Maneth speech because I went to the bathroom, but it was full of the meaning and nationalism. I really love his speech. Moreover, he was also a student studying abroad so that he is able to bring the good points from those countries to develop Cambodia.

The dinner was ended around 11:00pm. Some of delegates were staying in the camp, and some of them were staying at the guest houses that have booked last couple days. My H.E. Ly Chheng, a director-general of BELTEI Group led us to stay one of a guest house. He rent five rooms. Two rooms for other delegates coming from New York International School (NYIS), and the three remaining for BELTEI delegates with 11 members.
